Rabbi Chaim and Chana Levy, a newlywed Chabad couple, organized a Chanukah celebration at Sacher Park, the largest public park in the center of Jerusalem, which 150 people on Monday.
Good food, drinks and Chanukah spirit were felt by all those near and far with music being played by musician Daniel Elisha and the band “Shlepping Nachas.”
The 2-meter high menorah was lit by Rabbi Levy, accompanied by a Chanukah message from Rabbi Pinchas Ezra of ‘Kehati’ Jerusalem.
But when rain began to pour down, participants didn’t want to stop the celebration. Instead, they lifted the lit menorah into the tunnel in the park. The crowd followed while singing and dancing.
“The energy was palpable and intensified as the lights of the menorah continued to burn bright and illuminate even the darkest of places,” Rabbi Levy reported.
