Attention Mayor Mamdani: The corner of Union and Kingston Streets in Crown Heights, overwhelmed with trash, is being called "Mount Trashmore" by bochurim learning nearby. The snow-covered street is too narrow for garbage trucks to pass through. Photos

What is going on in NY?
This has been an issue for years and it’s only getting worse. The gaboim of 770 need to take responsibility and deal with their garbage.
They are saying the street is too narrow due to the snow. They usually do keep these piles pretty compact
This is an actual health threat.
Mount trash more
770 should take care of it themselves
Beis Rabbeinu near so much garbage. Its not resoectful
The garbage is FROM beis rabeinu
its a halacha that the garbage from a palace shld be taken out of the city, even if its from beis rabeinu, we have to make sure that all the garbage generated shld be taken care of better
It’s time for our Shul to take care of the trash properly.
This issue is not related to the snow, it’s been a problem for a while.
The corner of a Kingston and Union is filthy and full of rats
AZG will make change!
Who is AZG
An absolute legend
The whole Brooklyn is a garbage dump it’s a shame that the Rebbe’s shul is in such a low place
The Ohel has a garbage compactor that prevents waste from piling up and causing odors. Perhaps 770 management could take note. With a similar — if not greater — volume of visitors, the Ohel demonstrates that this can be handled effectively.
More broadly, there is much that 770 management could learn from the Ohel’s standards of organization and maintenance.
They must learn from Ohel how to manage the place
The Ohel is run by a British Rabbi, whereas 770 is run by Israelis.
👍🏼💛
Is the issue of the “Shuster Get Burves”. Our standards are only for others, not for ourselves, unfortunately with everything. Ask the BT’s how it works between the takeoff and after landing…
They had this issue for many years and they finally bought a compacter. You never have to see a pile of garbage.
Also concerned about Kingston Ave between Eastern Pkwy and Union – it’s been a mess for weeks! Loose garbage everywhere, no containers or dumpster in sight. Didn’t NYC mandate containers to reduce rats? 🐀 Has anyone reported this to 311? Even saw a shop worker sweeping trash onto the sidewalk 😔. Can Askanim get some action on this?
The restaurants on that street from top to bottom don’t manage their garbage properly. It’s filthy and we walk through it daily. With so much business they should be able to take care of their garbage or time for someone to call 311
770 can’t afford private garbage pickup?
Where is all the money going??
To the ongoing court case…
Never knew private garbage pickup was a thing
Whatever the stores use.
I’ve repeatedly seen people dumping all kinds of trash at this corner, including construction debris.
On several occasions, I’ve also noticed garbage being added to the pile from the new pizza shop on the corner.
The Gaboim are responsible for ensuring the garbage is cleaned up. If the city is delayed, or after major events, private sanitation should be arranged, as other large shuls do.
It shouldn’t be left sitting. It’s irresponsible and disrespectful to our community.
Very sad to see the filth on this corner.
The stores sell food and don’t clean up after themselves.
And the bags from 770…. this is NOT okay.
I saw an African American guy unloading a van of demolition on top of the pile, I told him this is wrong, he said but look what was here before I got here… This is all not okay
Filth and a massive Chilul Hashem.
What other street in Brooklyn looks so filthy???? NONE
the whole shcuneh is filled with garbage
get the city to step up and get their act together
770 management, please, for the sake of a kiddush Hashem, if for no other reason, please arrange for a private garbage pickup.
This has nothing to do with snow…..
This is not only unpleasant to our health, but it’s also a Chilul Hashem and a Chilul Lubavitch. Like other folks who sent in their comments I too agree that it has nothing to do with the snow. I feel that it’s just laziness,
