Rebbetzin Pesia Matusof, wife of the late Rabbi Shlomo Matusof obm, who served as a Shliach to Morocco, passed away. She was 86.
The daughter of Rabbi Yehuda Leib Karasik, Rebbetzin Matusof was born in the Russian city of Leningrad. Most of her life was spent as a dedicated partner in her husband’s Shlichus, working alongside of him in Morroco.
After the passing of her husband, she lived with her children. In recent weeks she was hospitalized at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York.
Rebbetzin Matusof is survived by her many children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, many of them Shluchim throughout the world.
She is survived by her children: Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok – Shliach to Toulouse, France; Rabbi Yehudah Leib – Shliach to Cannes, France; Rabbi Eliyahu – member of Otzer Hachasidim, Crown heights; Rabbi Yona – Shliach to Madison, Wisconsin; Rabbi Reuven – Shliach to Lishkas Lubavitch, Paris, France; Rabbi Shmaryahu – Shliach and Mashpia in Brunoy, France; Mrs. Baila Polotinsky – New Jersey; Rabbi Menachem Mendel – Shliach to Alberta, Canada; and Mrs. Aidla Nemanov, Crown Heights.
The funeral will be held today, Monday, leaving from Shomrei Hadas at 2:00 pm and passing by 770 at 2:30 pm.

Rebbitzen Matusof was a very accomplished woman in her time. She overcame seemingly insurmountable obstacles in Morroco., teaching, caring, sacrificing and raising a chassidishe family after surviving war times in Russia.
Her, intelligence kindness, warmth and concern for everyone she knew left a deep impression on all who were privileged to know her
