New Comic Book for Pesach by Dovid Taub

Last year Dovid Taub started releasing  a series free booklets – the “Moreh Hameshuamamim – Guide for the Bored” for the Yomim Noraim, and “Shivim Panim L’Dreidel” for Chanukah.  This week he released a brand new entry in this series: “Tzalmei Achbareichem”, A fully illustrated comic book exploring a series of mouse related halachos in Rambam’s Hilchos Chametz U’Matzah.

“Learning and thinking about these halachos always makes me happy, so I decided to try to share on paper the way I experience it in my head,” Taub explains in his introduction.  “All of these scenarios are originally from the Talmud, but it feels much more theoretical there – playing with variables to test the parameters of the ideas.  Which I love, but in this case I liked the way that Rambam’s codification of these scenarios ends up creating a very absurd yet real-life narrative.”

The six page comic goes through each situation presented in the halachos and illustrates them as an escalating series of absurd events.  The original halachos are also included in Hebrew and English in the back of the booklet for reference.
