Rabbi Dov Landau, Rosh Yeshiva of Slabodka and a leading figure in the Litvish Torah world, sent a personal letter to prominent philanthropist and businessman Lev Leviev ahead of Pesach.
The letter, expressing deep gratitude, was prompted by Leviev’s generous support for Torah learners, particularly avreichim and bochurim from Sephardic backgrounds, in the lead-up to the Yomtov.
Addressing Leviev, Rabbi Landau wrote:
“To the renowned benefactor, one of the great men of kindness, Reb Lev Leviev shlit’a,
I have heard that you generously support yeshiva scholars from Sephardic families ahead of the festivals, taking upon yourself the burden of their holiday expenses.”
Rabbi Landau continued with a blessing:
“May you continue in these most vital and honorable mitzvos, and may you be successful in all your endeavors. May you enjoy nachas from all that is yours, with good health and peace of mind for many long and good years.”
Rabbi Landau’s message comes as preparations are underway for the upcoming “Keter Torah” event, a large-scale Torah gathering for the Bukharian Jewish community.
Organized under the auspices of the Bukharian Jewish Congress, chaired by Leviev, the gathering is set to take place on Wednesday, the 18th of Nissan, at Binyanei HaUma in Jerusalem and will include the distribution of scholarships to Bukharian Torah scholars.
Held under the banner “The Bukharian Torah World Unites,” the event will bring together rabbanim, avreichim, community leaders, and yeshiva students in a powerful expression of unity and Torah dedication.

Bucharian people and their culture is best they are truly blessed!
