Have you ever wondered if there’s more to dreidel than just “Nes Gadol Hayah Sham” and hiding in caves? Itche Kadoozy creator Dovid Taub has, and that’s why he created the a brand new booklet for Chanukah called “Shivim Panim L’Dreidel” with over 10 Pages of “spinsights, spinnovations and riddles” for Chanukah.
Back in Tishrei Taub released the “Moreh Hameshuamamim – Guide for the Bored” for the Yomim Noraim. After the success of that publication he knew he wanted to create something for Chanukah.
The first section of “Shivim Panim L’Dreidel” is a Dreidel Playing Guide that is formatted like a Gemara with the standard rules for the game in the center and a collection of insights around the sides. “Just like each spin of the Dreidel has multiple possible outcomes, each aspect of the game is presented with multiple ways of looking at it,” Taub said.
The booklet also includes “Dreidel Spin-Offs” with eight new ways to play Dreidel, as well as a section of riddles adapted from the Sefer “Imrei Binah” by Rabbi Yosef Chaim of Baghdad (the Ben Ish Chai). “While I was doing research for this project I discovered that there’s a long tradition of other types of ‘play’ on Chanukah, and particularly riddles,” Taub explained. “Then I just happened to stumble upon a whole book of riddles written in the 1800s by a real Torah scholar and I knew I had to include some of them!”
The booklet also includes whimsical doodle-style illustrations and Taub’s signature wit and humor.
You can download the PDF for free here, which can be printed full page or as a booklet. Feel free to print them for your family and friends and everyone else at school and of course your Chanukah parties and get-togethers.
This booklet is the latest product of Taub’s CreativeJudaism.com, under which he is also currently releasing a series of weekly videos called “Parshah Rabbit Hole.” To make sure you never miss a video, subscribe to YouTube.com@CreativeJudaism and turn on notifications. The series is also available as an audio only podcast by clicking here.

I selected booklet form and double sided, but it printed with half of the pages upside down?!?!
Is there a way to print it so all the pages are facing in the same direction?
Thanks!
