This past Sunday, Educational Institute Oholei Torah inaugurated one of their most recent ventures, Yeshivas Kayitz Kingston, an overnight summer camp for young boys of grades 8 and Mesivta/ High School.
The opening ceremony was the first in a series of events planned for the dedication of the newly purchased campus.
Guests, Oholei Torah board members, and supporters joined for a beautifully catered brunch, guided tours of the 120 acre campus, and country-themed family pictures.
A folder with camp information, program of the day and a newly created map of the campus was given to each guest, as well as appreciation gifts for the donors.
Children’s activities were available for those with families, which included arts and crafts, a moon bounce, racing games and canoeing on the campus lake.
The guests were welcomed by Rabbi Joseph Rosenfeld, Executive Director of Oholei Torah, and Rabbi Nosson Blumes, Director of Development. Donors unveiled their unique sponsorship signage which adorned many of the camp buildings and areas.
During the event, the guests heard of the learning programs, activities and trips the campers enjoy, as well meeting many of the dedicated staff, led by Rabbi Yisroel Levertov, Director, Rabbi Moshe Silman, Mashpia and Menahel Ruchni and Levik Fogelman, Assistant Director.
A special group who joined the event were campers who attended a camp during the 70’s and 80’s which were held on the previously owned camp grounds.
They were visibly impressed with the warm welcome they received and upkeep of the grounds. Mr. Joe Leibman, an active member of the former camp, spoke of his memories and thanked the current camp administration for inviting and including them as well.
Many dedication opportunities are still available, and a tribute will be made to all the donors at the upcoming gala dinner.
