Each year, thousands travel to the gravesite of the Arizal in Tzfas, Israel, to mark his yartzeit on 5 Av, as per the directive of the Rebbe.
This year, Chabad of Tzfas, directed by Rabbi Chaim Kaplan, arranged for a large, luxury tent to be built for the comfort of visitors for 24 hours.
The thousands of visitors were amazed at the air conditioned, luxurious tent and lavish full course meal served to over 6,000 guests.
The tent was divided into men’s and women’s sections, each side divided into areas for meals, learning and davening.
Learning went on from 10:30 pm until 2:30 am, with shiurim and lectures in the Arizal’s teachings, which was also broadcast live via internet.
Visitors were also able to view videos of the Rebbe, and join minyanim throughout the day, as well as learn from many books on Chassidus.
The shiurim were given by Rabbi Alter Eliyahu Friedman, Rabbi Asi Spiegel, and Rabbi Menachem Mintzberg.
Simultaneously, at the entrance to the tent there was a massive sale of Chassidic seforim. Each visitor also received packaged snacks for the way home as well as a gift of a sefer.
