A new Crown Heights initiative is inviting the community to bake for a cause and experience an uplifting model of chesed, just in time for Purim.
The Kindness Hub is launching its first pop-up event, a day-long Round-the-Clock Hamantash Bake. The event will run this Sunday, Adar 5/Feb. 22 from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM with separate sessions for diverse age groups. Participants will bake, fill, shape, and package more than 1,000 hamantashen to be distributed for tzedakah.
The Kindness Hub’s mission is to create a warm, dedicated environment where people of all ages can gather regularly to give, connect, and grow through hands-on chesed experiences. The goal is to make giving something people experience together in an engaging and uplifting way. The long-term vision is to create a permanent space in the future where kindness can be practiced through volunteerism on a daily basis.
The benefits of volunteering were evident during a recent trial run of the hamantash bake. Volunteers created delicious hamantashen and left with a sense of joy and connection that led to an impromptu dance party. Organizers say that response reflects the heart of the initiative: volunteering that boosts morale, raises energy, and strengthens community.
Community members are invited to join for a session, whether for an hour or more, and take part in an event that blends baking, community, and purpose. Separate sessions will be available for women and for men.
Registration is now open, and space is limited. Location will be provided after registration.

Women Session 1: 9:00 am (all ages)

This is great initiative and thank you to the organizers!
Just wondering, are there any plans of having events such as this, but for older singles (30 or 35 year olds), where they can get to know each other in a low-stress environment while helping the needy of CH?
Where are the hamantashen going?
