Can you guess why you should not send your daughter to Beis Chana?
I am sure you know that there are thousands of alumni who studied in Beis Chana Seminary over the last 25 years. You probably know some of them because they are your daughters, granddaughters, nieces, neighbors, teachers, principals, Shluchos, etc. etc. I imagine that it’s hard to find someone Jewish on the planet who doesn’t know a Beis Chana graduate!
And why exactly are so many people spending their hard earned money to send their daughters to Beis Chana – Shluchim and teachers who are trying to make ends meet, people with large families?
Is it trendy? Keeping up with the Cohens? Hardly. Nah.
Is it because it’s a year breathing the air of Eretz HaKodesh and visiting all the holy sites?
Is it because so many of a girl’s friends are going, too? Is she begging to be with other Chassidishe, sincere girls who want to maximize their year for significant growth?
Have you heard about the teachers? Their classes, their farbrengens, how they are living examples – you know, the whole thing about being a Tomchei Tmimim for girls…
The Chassidishe atmosphere…
These are all really important reasons you should send your daughter to Beis Chana. Now let me tell you why you shouldn’t send her…
I must let you in on a well known ‘secret’… the classrooms are not spacious, modern and properly heated. The dorm apartments are not without leaks, creaks, cracks and mold. They are old and dilapidated rentals whose repair expense cannot be financially justified and whose condition is going downhill – fast. This is not why people send their daughters to Beis Chana.
And yet, with the Rebbe’s brachos, the physical conditions does not deter hundreds of girls’ desire for a year of Chassidishe life-altering experiences. I know because I also studied in Beis Chana, but I want my family and friends to have it better than I did. They deserve it! I dream that the gashmius will shine like its ruchnius and be conducive to an even better Chassidishe atmosphere.
But… there is no funding to cover this Building Project. Zilch. Zero. Nada. Tuition here ($10K less than the average Beis Yaakovs!) just covers salaries, rent, food, trips, guest farbrengeners, and extracurricular programming. We work to keep tuition at minimum, but now we need your help!
