Urgent Appeal
The highest form of tzedaka is to help a person get on their feet and be able to support themselves and their family with dignity.
Dear Anash: a family of Anash—whom I’ve known for many years—is facing a severe crisis. Due to chinuch and personal challenges, they were forced to relocate and are now struggling to pay rent. Their children are being denied school until back tuition is paid.
As a shliach in Flatbush, I don’t usually make appeals—but this family is at a breaking point and urgently needs our help.
Please give generously from your heart.
No amount is too small!
Tizku l’mitzvos. May we be zocheh to the Geulah now.

I remember the days in 1st and 2nd grade sitting outside the principals office bc my parents couldn’t pay tuition. Dont think the embarrassment doesn’t stay with a child for a long time (until they are adult enough to realize they weren’t at fault).
Not allowing a child back into school is basically the school saying they have no clue what chinuch is. How ironic.
I am not saying school should be free. But a heart is necessary. A BIG heart.
In line with torah values, Crown heights community needs a yeshiva fund.
Tgank you for your comment ans SO SORRY for what you experienced (and most likely, still do, on some level) az a child.
The 1st thought that came to my mind when I read this article: what kind of school would do such a thing to a child, especially that the pafents are struggling.
Is it one those institutions that scream “We are the Rebbe’s Yeshivah” ?!. Is this the way The Rebbe would want a Yiddishe child to be treated?
But this is really sad and the school should not be denying a Jewish child chinuch. Every school fundraises every year and says they are also raising money for children who can not afford tuition, yet when push comes to shove they deny children access. So despicable.
This is what happens when the community schools are run like corporations and not as community essential services.
Families get crushed
What has become of Lubavitch mosdos charging an arm and a leg for tuition? The average tuition in Crown Heights has risen to the level of what people pay in out-of-town day schools. It’s such a shame — not only with the local schools, but also with the mesivtas, zals, and seminaries that are now charging close to $30,000 a year. Who can really afford this lifestyle of sending our children to Lubavitch mosdos? I’m honestly starting to think it may be easier to put my kids in public school, rather than having to beg again and again for just… Read more »
If one child isn’t allowed to be in school, ALL parents should stand up together and refuse to allow their children to go to that school, until they allow the child back in. Show ahavas yisroel – not just talk but action!! Achdus starts here and now! Don’t close your eyes while a child gets shechted.
Maybe it’s a special ed school which are and always have been exorbitantly expensive. It says due to ‘chinuch and personal challenges’ they had to relocate. That doesn’t even mean necessarily a Lubavitch school. Yes they should receive help, but don’t assume anything unless you know all the details. I also had struggled with tuition payments, so I know both sides.
