Jordan, 17 Adar, 5786
We are in Jordan, here, and awaiting
Ready to go, we’ve been longing
To our destination, which we’ve been yearning
But why would we yearn
For something not right
Hashem has a plan; He’s holding us tight.
Stuck in Jordan, hungry and tired
Our faith held steady, our minds wired
We whisper pesukim, under our breath
Quietly we pray, for our next awaited step.
Stuck in Jordan, what should we ponder
We’re waiting and waiting, until we can no longer
Our brains fill with annoyance, anger, and frustration
An easier option, takes no consideration
To whine and complain, fall into emotions.
But to pick the harder choice, we must choose
Because it’s real, it’s the whole truth
We must remember, we’re not in control,
There’s a higher power, greater than us all
Stuck in Jordan, this may feel wrong,
But Hashem is with us; we must hold strong,
To have faith in Him, the One taking us along
We’re here for a reason; we might not know why
But to trust it’s for us, intentions the best, we must
This is the place, the best we can be in
Because since we’re here, it’s all meant to be
Part of His master plan, far from our grasp
Yet to accept it, I’ll try and succeed at last.
Stuck in Jordon, but really, are we?
We’re not at all; it’s our shlichus, meant to be
We have a mission here; now’s our chance
To spread light we must, even in the darkest circumstances
To remember Hashem, who’s with us always
Even in hard times, in uncertainty and darkness
Every second and detail, planned perfectly
To trust and remember that with certainty.

Couldn’t they have returned to Israel? Why are pretending they made the right decision of leaving Israel and going to Jorden and then staying there even when there was not flights out. It sounds to me like they made three mistakes here, but maybe I am missing something.
kol hakavod to realize the Rebbe’s words: A ID IZ KAINMOL NIT STUCK!!!!!
Maybe stop posting about this? Its sad enough to see jews run away from Israel every time things get tough. Especially deliberately putting yourself in a position of danger by traveling to Jordan!
It was a Beis Rivkah seminary trip
Not a seminary thats supposed to be there the whole year
UR MAMESH THE BESTTTTT
WE LOVE YOUUUUU
OMGGGGGGG
Interesting, yearning is not usually associated with anything but Moshiach and Eretz hakodesh. Oysh.
What a miracle and what a beautiful and meaningful poem !
There is a story of the Rebbe Rashab & the Friediker Rebbe walking in the park. (I believe it was in Austria, i may have some details mixed, but the idea is definitely correct) they saw a Chosid meditating in depth on a topic of chassidus. So deeply he didn’t realize the Rebbe looking at him. The Rebbe Rashab commented. Since the creation of the world, this exact spot was waiting 5,600 something years to be elevated with kedusha. Maybe thank the yeshiva bochurim who weren’t freaking out the whole time and remained calm and made a Kiddush hashem enough with your advertisements for br move on with your life
Stop dragging this out enough
Seminary girls exaggerating, more than needed
Such an inspiring poem!!! I love it!
Thank you
This poem is incredibly beautiful!
It’s amazing to see how you found the light in this insane situation!
You are truly an inspiration and the future of Lubavitch!
If bochurim wrote a poem every time they spent shabbos in the middle of no where, they’d all be bestselling authors at this point.
