The Town of Miami Lakes, together with Miami-Dade County Commissioner Rene Garcia, hosted the Hate Ends Now Cattle Car and Holocaust Exhibit. In light of the recent rise in antisemitism, the town sought to take a proactive role in educating local high school students and residents about the Holocaust.
The exhibit, which features thousands of artifacts collected from survivors over the years, included original Nazi hate propaganda, a survivor’s pajama uniform from the concentration camps, an original BMW employee armband worn by someone who built vehicles for the Nazi regime, a Hitler Youth T-shirt, as well as an original Yellow Star worn by a survivor.
The cattle car itself, built as an exact replica of those used to transport hundreds of Yidden to the concentration camps, was opened to the public. Visitors were invited inside with the door closed, where they watched a powerful multimedia presentation featuring survivor testimonies and recounting the tragedies that unfolded during that period.
Shluchim Rabbi Mendy and Tzippy Weiss, along with students from Beis Chana High School, were on hand to conduct mivtzoim and interact with attendees.
Garcia said, “It is my duty to show this to the public and educate them that hate has no place in our community and district.”
Mrs. Weiss noted, “Although this is just a drop in the bucket of the enormous tragedy of the Holocaust, it is still a responsibility for all of us to know about it and to ensure that we are working together to make the world a better place for all of G-d’s children to live together in peace.”
Rabbi Weiss said, “This is extremely important for the youth of today to see and be educated about. They are the future leaders of tomorrow, and it is in their hands to make this world a place where everyone feels purpose, happiness, and G-dliness, and for Jewish kids to take pride in who they are and be more actively Jewish.”
People leaving the exhibit were noticeably moved by what they had seen and heard.

Good job, Mendel & Tzippy.
Keep up the great work.
Thx
