Rabbi Sholom Ber Schapiro, Director of the Nissan Mindel Publications (NMP), presents “Historic Treasures.”
Each program shares ‘treasures’ from the archives of Rabbi Schapiro’s father in law, Rabbi Dr. Nissan Mindel OBM, a prolific writer who served as a personal secretary of the 6th and 7th Chabad Rebbes.
The program uncovers fascinating stories, rare artifacts and precious documents from the Chabad-Lubavitch movement.

I very enjoyed Rabbi Shapiro’s topic on woman. However, Maybe he can explain a strong taana from other chassidim, about 2 disturbing facts in Lubavitch. 1. after daveneing around 770 there is a great lack of tznius. 2. Why are many women not dressed tniusdik in Ch. I see in lakewood and other kehilos the great emphasis on tznius. and to a large extent its lacking in Lubavitch.
Read more »
For further insight into this topic, please learn the ma’amar of the Rebbe Maharash entiled “L’hovin Inyan Rosh Chodesh”, תר”ם. It’s available with English translation and commentary on kehotonline.com.
The ma’amar “L’hovin Inyan Rosh Chodesh” explains the erroneous thought processes that led to the sin of the golden calf, and it explains how the particular origin of women’s souls enables us to resist such errors.
The rebbe used to have women go up to him with letters to speak with him individually after he gave a sicha to women at the womans convention and before rosh hashana. My first time was in june 1967. I will never forget it
If it’s such a privilege to be exempt from certain mitzvos then that’s really sad and a poor argument for why women *get,* to be exempt from learning torah. Im a woman and enjoy learning torah. Also if time bound mitzos are exempt then we should be exempt from lighting candles too
Molding the Almighty’s firstborn, takes, in the Creator’s stated view, precedence over the time bound mitzvot (that are not in conjunction with a prohibition).
It may not be fashionable to put G-d’s children first in secularized thinking. That cop-out from G-d’s imperative does not alter the factual hagiarchy of what is truly the underpinning of the advancement of G-d’s plan.
What is the answer to the question why men make the Brocha if women are on a higher level? Then women should say sh’ elo osani Ish?
Born non male happens once. You can’t recite a bracha daily for a one time occurrence.
What the man is thanking for, e.g. the mitzvah to recite Shema, is a daily requirement.
