The Chabad Chanukah Telethon, hosted by Mickey ‘B’ & Rabbi Anchelle Perl, will air its ‘Chabad’s Got Talent’ finale live, this Sunday, on WLNY TV55 and via live webcast at www.chanukahtelethon.com.
The contest, which invited the community to audition their unique variety acts, will feature a colorful array of hopeful stars, including singers, dancers, comedians, contortionists, impressionists, jugglers, magicians and ventriloquists, all hoping they’ll win the viewing audiences’ votes. Telethon organizers received more than 100 applications and audition tapes.
The lineup includes the Lubavitcher Boys Choir “The Tmimim”, an adult a cappella group called The Meshugadaddies, magician Eric Wilzig and Alex “A.C.” Cohen, a 15-year-old from Long Island who raps about Hebrew school.
The telethon, which will be dedicated to the murdered Shluchim, Rabbi Gavriel & Rivka Holzberg HYD, will include a special message from the family.
“Behind the fun and entertainment of the Chanukah Telethon is a very serious purpose,” says Rabbi Anchelle Perl, host of the yearly fundraiser. “It’s all about helping people during these serious tough economic times. Funds are raised to help those who are falling between the cracks.”
COLlive will be airing the live broadcast, Sunday at 7 pm.
You’re so wrong… Did you ask Rabbi Perl himself how these funds are used??? Why is the first thing on the mind of someone who calls himself ANASH to badmouth??? Is this the meaning of Anshei Shlomeinu??? I personally know of many projects and Peulos done by Rabbi Perl, and you – use your time more positively and with Ahavas Isroel (even if it’s Ahavas Chinom!!!)
I am very dissapointed that this organization does nothing but raise money. It’s very sad but its the truth. Every jew and even more so every Lubavitcher on long Island know this sad truth but keep it to themselves. i think its time to speak up and change. it’s a terrible image for us all.
