The Chassidim were in for a surprise.
Each year, the Sanz-Klausenburger Rebbe, R’ Shmuel Dovid Halberstam Shlita, leads a festive post Purim “Tisch” for some 10 hours. This year, it was held on Shabbos and continued on Motzoei Shabbos, from around Shabbos 5 PM till 3 AM on Sunday.
A little after midnight, the renowned orator and dean of TheYeshiva.net Rabbi YY Jacobson addressed the crowd of 1000 Chassidim for more than an hour.
Culling from many Chassidic sources, he explained what is the meaning of Purim, what is a Jew, what is Torah, and what it means to be a Chassid.
In honor of Purim, it was peppered with plenty of humor. Rabbi Jacobson shared thoughts of the Rebbe about the essence of Purim.
