The Rosh Chodesh Elul prayers began this morning at 770 Eastern Parkway, the Rebbe’s shul in Crown Heights.
The special tefillos were accompanied by the heartfelt niggunim of “Kesiva Vachasima Tova,” a traditional melody sung in the lead-up to the High Holidays. The tunes resonated throughout 770, the small zal, and even in the Rebbe’s holy room, evoking the spiritual atmosphere of the Elul season.
