An amazing clip has just been published online, with a fascinating message from the Rebbe. Amazingly, while the Rebbe said these words over three decades ago, they feel just as–if not even more–relevant now.
Addressing the fear surrounding the volatility in global affairs, the Rebbe stated: The world is currently in a state of turmoil. Nations are quarreling with one another, and international tension and friction escalates from day to day. Jews, as well, have been somewhat drawn into this situation.
Responding to the chaos that was unfolding, the Rebbe launched a new campaign, requesting that Jews everywhere add two lines to their daily prayers. The verses of “Hareini Mekabel” (“I hereby take upon myself to fulfill the mitzvah, ‘Love your fellow as yourself.”) and “Ach Tzaddikim”, (“Indeed, the righteous will extol Your Name; the upright will dwell in Your presence.”) would help advance the ideas of love and peace in the world.
The clip was published by JEM in the lead up to Yud-Tes Kislev this year, in connection with a special project of the Vaad Talmidei Hatmimim; this entire Farbrengen from 19 Kislev 5744 will be watched by Bochurim and Anash around the world.
With an array of resources including transcripts and translations, the Farbrengen can be enjoyed in English, Yiddish or Hebrew. To arrange a public viewing for your community or institution email [email protected].
The Chasidisher Derher highlighted this fascinating Farbrengen in their magazine last year, providing the background for the now-famous poster that was made at the time to promote the recital of these verses.
