Rabbi Naftali Weisblum, rabbi of the Neve Sha’anan neighborhood in the large Israeli city of Haifa, passed away on Motzoei Shabbos, 14 Tishrei 5776.
He was 83.
He was born in Poland to Rabbi Yaakov Yitzchak and Hana Reizl Vaisblum ZT”L, descendants of Chassidus Gur. He was a seventh generation direct descendant of the Noam Elimelech ZT”L.
For over 50 years he served in the rabbinate in Haifa’s Neve Sha’anan neighborhood and Sde Yaakov.
He is survived by his wife Tova (nee Brandwein, grandaughter of the Rebbe of Stretin), their Esty Mandelbaum – Bnei Brak, Tammy Zilbershtein – Ashdod, Sara Wilhelm – Bnei Brak, Moshe Pinchas Weisblum – Baltimore MD, Uri Weisblum – Yerushalayim, Dvora Perl Weingot – Ramot Yerushalayim, Shulamit Ginsburg – Ashdod and Yehuda Tzvi Weisblum – Haifa; grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is also survived by his siblings Rabbi Yehuda Tzvi Weisblum – Bnei Brak, Mrs. Penina Slonim – Crown Heights, Rabbi Uri Weisblum – Haifa and Mrs. Rivka Weinberg – Yerushalayim.
Mrs. Slonim will be sitting Shiva will sit Shiva on Sunday at her home 1421 Carroll St. (first floor) until an hour before Yom Tov.
