This Purim, as every year, Crown Heights residents will gather for the annual Purim seudah, this year called the “Shimshon Stock Annual Community Purim Party” to be held at Oholei Torah on Purim day, Tuesday, March 10.
What began as a small group of 20 families joining for the Purim Seudah has blossomed into a community-wide celebration, some years hosting almost 900 people. The grand Purim dinner, accompanied by live music and dancing, is organized by the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council, and is in memory of one of the most beloved and greatly missed personalities in Chesed and simcha, Shimshon Stock and his wife Martha, OBM.
Shimshon brought ‘purim’ to everyone he met, every day, and this gathering of simcha and unity in the community is a fitting tribute to him.
The entire community is encouraged to attend, said organizers, especially in this year of hakhel. The community purim seudah enables so many to celebrate the Yom Tov with joy, in the spirit of unity, which is so needed right now.
