Mamesh Music held its first Open House Monday for the girls’ program of 5773.
Director of the girls’ division Dana Pestun, together with the other girls’ teachers, Chaya Mushka Goldstein and Chaya Yavitch hosted the Open House, showed people around the new premises, demonstrated the instruments, and answered questions.
This year’s girls program will be staring twon new ensembles, including a choir, say the directors.
Tomorrow (Tuesday) evening will be the boys’ open house from 6:00-8:00 PM. Director Zalman Negin and experienced music teacher Moshe Cohen will be at hand BE”H to help anybody interested in starting or continuing to learn Nigunim.
Registration for Mamesh Music 5773 classes is now open.
This year, the boys’ program offers a whole set of courses including ‘fundamentals’ (which concentrate on basic playing technique and music theory), the ‘Mamesh Orchestra’ (includes strings, flutes and a rhythm section) , and a new ‘Concert Band’ program (includes brass, woodwinds, and drums/percussion).
The boys division will also have a new boys band and choir, which will be called “MAMESH NOW!”. All boys aged 11-14 with at least one year of experience are welcome to audition.
New to this year is also a music arrangement course being given by Avremi G.
New staff this year includes Avremi Gourarie (music arranger), Dovid Babinet (voice), Mrs. Yavitch (choir), Meir Rosenbeger (brass) and Shlomo Recu (drums and percussion).
The boys’ Open house will IY”H be tomorrow evening (Tuesday) from 6:00-8:00 PM at 1385 Carroll St. (between Kingston and Albany).
