A message from Bikur Cholim of Crown Heights
3 – 30 – 300 – 3,000 – 30,000 – 300,000… It’s more than just the theme of a green and berry colored brochure; it’s the mission and daily call that Bikur Cholim volunteers and board members selflessly devote themselves to, assuming a meaningful role in a patient’s recovery with kindness, compassion, and utmost regard for privacy.
With an unprecedented growth in our community and the unfortunate rise in medical challenges, it became necessary to expand the vital services of Bikur Cholim, whose faithful members have been dedicated to our community for decades.
After 10 volunteers joined the dynamic forces 3 years ago, Bikur Cholim’s offerings and services have multiplied to address the increasing need of families affected by medical challenges: 30 Services and Projects… 300-plus Volunteers… 3000 Calls for Assistance… More than 30,000 Acts of Healing with Kindness… $300,000 in Financial Relief…
We cannot do it alone.
We turn to our fellow community-members requesting your support on behalf of the families of those battling illness. Donations of any amount are so appreciated. Please take a moment during this auspicious week between Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur to open your heart to your neighbors and submit your donation online at www.BikurCholimCH.org. (Please note corrected website – the brochure accurately listed BikurCholimCH.org but the one listed on the pledge card was a misprint!)
May hashem repay you plentifold with brochos for good health and fulfillment of your bakashos. Wishes for a G’mar Chasima Tova. Your partnership will tip the scale!
very very nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
only a handful of ppl are actually running this amazing organization 24/7
Mrs Esther Blau, Mrs Esther Lebovic, Mrs Ruthie Kirchenbaum, Mrs Rivka Krinsky, Mrs Rochie Korolitzky, Mrs Naomi Pinson , Mrs Bayla Shpalter Mrs Doba Webb… please forgive me if I left anyone out but kol hakovod to all of you for your tireless effort for those in the community
I would imagine Mrs. Clapmen requested her name to be removed when she stepped down. Mrs C. is a very private individual who never looked to be in the spotlight, not once did she ever publicize her frequent open door policy to visit the late Rebbetzin (she also had a very close connection to the Rebbi).I heard from her daughters that she would have frequent visits from Mrs Clapmen’s late teens until the Rrebbetzin’s last year, her visits would be for countless hours.
BH you guys are here
esther blum you never cease to amaze me. May Hashem give you (and all the volunteers) strength, health and all you need to be able to continue your special work.
I saw the Bikur Cholim brochure that was mailed yesterday, and was quite surprised not to see Tzippora Clapman’s name on the stationary. I remember 30 years ago, when she founded the organization, I also remember the nights we would stay up with her, year after year, arranging the annual luncheon. The only reason she went to school for so many years to become a RN, FNP, was that she would be able to serve the community more. I’m sure it was only a mistake, however, I wanted to point out how vital she was, and is in this organization,… Read more »
