Mrs. Sara Netanyahu, wife of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, arrived late Sunday night under heavy security to pray at the Rebbe’s holy Ohel in Queens, New York.
She came as an emissary of her husband, ahead of his pivotal meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington, DC on Monday.
Accompanying Mrs. Netanyahu were directors of the Or Avner Institutions in both Israel and the United States, including Rabbi Yehuda Bloi, Rabbi Zalman Zvulunov, Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Wolowik, along with their wives, Mrs. Batya Zvulunov and Mrs. Rivky Wolowik.
Heading the delegation was Mrs. Chagit Sofiev-Leviev, President of the Bukharian Jewish Congress in the U.S. and daughter of philanthropist and global president of the Bukharian Jewish Congress, Lev Leviev.
This was Mrs. Netanyahu’s second visit to the Ohel in the past year, which has been one of the most dramatic in Israel’s history as it fought its enemies in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Iran and Yemen.
Following Chabad custom, Mrs. Netanyahu wrote a heartfelt pidyon nefesh before entering the Rebbe’s sacred resting place. There, she poured out prayers for the success of the Jewish people in their struggle against their enemies and for the safe return of all hostages.
