Cheder Chabad of Monsey in New York held the second segment of their Foundations program, a Sunday program that teaches the basics of Yiddishkeit and Chassidus, for 7th and 8th-grade girls this week.
The girls arrived excited and were treated to an elegant candlelit dinner and a presentation given by Mrs. Naomi Drizin, a Shlucha on Manhattan’s Upper West Side and a veteran mechaneches.
Drizin led an interactive Q&A with the girls about the importance of connecting to Hashem, especially through Tefila. She also gave practical advice on how to have more kavanah.
The girls were captivated and actively participated in the discussion, teachers noted.
As part of the event, students were given journals to decorate. The journals are being used by the students to chart their progress in their connection to Hashem.
For dessert, the students enjoyed a decorated cake to celebrate the birthday of 2 classmates.
The girls left fulfilled and inspired and we are all looking forward to the next segment which will come soon b’ezras Hashem, the school said.
If you are interested in sponsoring a segment in memory of a loved one or in honor of your daughter’s birthday, contact Mrs. Itty Breuer at [email protected].
