The Kolel L’horaah Ma’asis of Crown Heights is announcing the opening of Registration for Yungeleit and Bochurim for the summer and for the upcoming year, with an updated curriculum.
The Kolel, established by the Menahel Rabbi Shlomo Greenwald in the summer of 5780, and led in conjunction with Rabbi Sholom Shuchat as Rosh Kolel, Rabbi Shraga Homnick as Sgan Rosh Kolel, and Rabbi Simon Jacobson as Mashpia, is in the middle of its third highly-successful year, and has announced that it will open applications for Yungeleit willing to join the Kolel for the upcoming year 5784, with the option of beginning Rosh Chodesh Iyar, or Rosh Chodesh Tamuz, or Rosh Chodesh Elul.
This coming year, the Kollel is looking for 20 Yungeleit and 10 Bochurim who have completed Semicha to join the program.
The curriculum for this year is Eruvin in the morning Seder, and Yuchsin / Kesubah in the afternoon Seder. With the stated goal of teaching and training the next generation of Lubavitcher Rabonim and Dayanim.
For the upcoming year, the curriculum will be: Morning Seder – Advanced Choshen Mishpat: Laws of partnerships and business transactions (Various Simanim from 157 to 237). Afternoon Seder: Laws of Writing a Gett.
Although in past years the Kolel focused on more conventional topics (Mikvaos, Ribbis, Shabbos, Niddah, Kashrus, Yuchsin), the focus has now changed, as a few programs have created curriculums to teach those topics, following the lead of the Kolel, and as such – the Kolel is pivoting towards topics which aren’t taught yet in the various programs.
The curriculum will focus on the practical, giving the Yungeleit and Bochurim options for Shimush and training, such as serving as Dayonim on Dinei Torah which the Kolel will provide free-of-charge to parties interested in this service.

Chassidus: The Yungeleit continue studying Chassidus with weekly Shiurim by Rabbi Simon Jacobson, and with Rabbi Eli Labkowski as Meishiv.
Morning Seder: The Yungeleit are continuing learning the second section of Hilchos Eiruvin, focusing on the Halachos of how to make an Eiruv Chatzeiros (after concluding the first and largest part of the Halachos regarding determining the various “Reshuyos”). During this month the Yungeleit received Shiurim in these Halachos from Rabbi Sholom Shuchat and Rabbi Shraga Homnick.
Afternoon Seder: During the first three weeks of Adar, the Yungeleit continued studying the Halachos pertaining to Yuchsin, specifically focusing on when a person must divorce his wife, when a person cannot remarry his divorcee, etc. During the last week of Adar and continuing until Pesach, the Yungeleit are learning in-depth the Halachos of Mechiras Chometz, focusing on the Alter Rebbe’s innovations and the Psokim of the Tzemach Tzedek and the Rebbe.
Guest Speakers: Rabbi Mendel Morosow from Kolel Anash, and Rabbi Dovid Dubov, Shliach to Princeton, NJ.

Finally a program for older boys…So needed in Chabad right now . The boys finish yeshiva and have nowhere to go and are forced to work as they don’t want to roam the streets.. I hope this program succeeds and will be the antidote to the many challenges we are facing now the older boys are facing.
