A huge tent is going up on Carroll Street in Crown Heights in response to the shortage of available accommodations for the Tishrei month, expanding the neighborhood’s capacity for welcoming guests.
A group of community activists, in collaboration with the Vaad Hakohol and Crown Heights Rabbonim, are spearheading the development of a state-of-the-art central lodging complex. The huge tent, located on Carroll Street and Troy Avenue, is designed to accommodate approximately 600 guests initially, with potential for future expansion.
The facility is being built with the cooperation of various community organizations, and is available to any bochurim who would like to sign up through their Yeshivas. Meals will be organized and hosted by R’ Moshe Rubashkin, organizers note.
“This initiative stems from our community’s steadfast commitment to continually improve the experience of the thousands of visitors who grace our neighborhood each year during Tishrei,” organizers said. “The new complex will allow our neighborhood to extend our hospitality to even more guests, fulfilling the Rebbe’s vision of enabling every Chassid to visit and stay in close proximity during these holy days.”
The facility will feature advanced systems for guest comfort and safety, including air conditioning, security measures, and a professional cleaning team operating around the clock, organizers said.
The establishment of this complex is expected to bring numerous benefits to our entire neighborhood. It will alleviate pressure on private residences, help streamline the hosting process, and enable more families to participate in the mitzvah of hospitality in additional ways, such as inviting guests for holiday meals.
Organizers thanked the property owner Avremel Lokshin, Mayor Eric Adams and his dedicated team: Uri Fraenkel and Anthony Iuliano, Beis Shmuel, Brooklyn Brokerage, YP Mechanical, Moshe Rubashkin and all the welcoming neighbors, Camp Chayolei Hamelech for lending 450 mattresses and Camp Chomesh Connecticut for giving mattresses as well.

From what I understood there will be a security guard plus cameras, also it is actually supposed to be very decent rooms and living quarters, also police will be parked in front at all times , there will be air conditioning, cleaning service, place to store personal items

Great initiative, kol hakovod
Let’s just hope it doesn’t give the city any ideas for migrant living 🙁
By keeping the construction process to decent hours and not banging and constructing and having the constant beeping sound of reversing construction trucks at a quarter to one in the morning as is still going on right now. There are all kinds of neighbors who have jobs. And a word to the bochurim when they come to also be aware of the neighbors when they are outside coming back from farbrenging at 3 am. This is a wonderful project, let’s use it for good only.
Why don’t bochurim/their parents pay a fee to stay there to cover costs like any business?
Why should this be a community sponsored initiative?
First of all you right
And that what they are doing the bocherim going to pay
But you can’t charge a 1000 bucks from bocherim so they are making a campaign for this
But you could check the website
The campaign is not for CH community the Campaign is from the parents and families of them in eretz Hakodesh
This whole campaign is in Hebrew
I am a shliach with no family in CH have to pay $000s per night to stay in basements. Will they now come up with a similar project for the shluchim for the kinus?
Who do you contact to ask about accommodation?
