In preparation for Rosh Hashana, and being able to help others fulfill the Mitzvah of Shofar, 100 7th grade boys attended a special Shofar event led by Rabbi Sholom Tenenbaum hosted at the Levi Yitzchok Library in Crown Heights.
The boys were from 7th grades of all local Crown Heights schools.
Rabbi Sholom Tenenbaum’s father, Rabbi Mendel Tenenbaum A”H, had the merit of blowing the Shofar by the Rebbe all the years of Nesius in 770.
Rabbi Tenenbaum shared his memories and stories of Tekias Shofar by the Rebbe in 770, and taught how to blow the shofar, to fulfill the Mitzvah properly.
Winners of the two shofars were Shmuly Kaplan and Mendel Raitport of Oholei Torah.
This event was one of many new initiatives taking place at the Library, including weekly Mesibos Shabbos for girls and boys, and expanded opening hours to accommodate after school hours.
