A Jewish man passed away in Merced, California with no family involved. Without immediate intervention, his body was already approved for cremation, donation to science, and burial in a non Jewish cemetery.
At one point, the Coroner’s Office had taken custody and it seemed this would no longer be possible.
Baruch Hashem, against all odds, we were able to stop every step of that process and secure permission for a proper kever Yisrael.
We are now raising the final $5k to cover transportation to New York and burial expenses. This is the most respectful and cost effective option available and allows this neshama to be laid to rest with true dignity and kavod.
