The campaign of New York Governor Kathy Hochul is touting “unprecedented universal” support from major Orthodox Jewish voting blocs days ahead of what they call her “imminent primary victory,” the Forward reported.
Her Democratic rivals, Congressman Tom Suozzi and Jumaane Williams, New York City’s public advocate, both with close relationships with the Jewish community, have failed to snag a single Orthodox endorsement, the Forward reported.
Hochul secured endorsements for her reelection campaign from both communities of Satmar, building support with a voting bloc with tens of thousands of voters.
Representatives of 28 Chassidic communities and schools in the Borough Park neighborhood of Brooklyn endorsed Hochul and her running mate, Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado, for re-election in the June 28 primary.
These include all mosdos in Borough Park, Satmar aronim, all mosdos and sects in Williamsburg, Satmar Zali’s, Bobov, New Square, Pupa, all mosdos in Monsey and the village of Kiryas Joel.
Their full-page ad, published in the Yiddish-language weekly newspapers, described the incumbent as a person who’s been sympathetic to their religious needs and a reliable ally in government.
The Orthodox community played an influential role in the New York City mayoral primary last year. Mayor Eric Adams, who endorsed Hochul, received significant support from Orthodox voting blocs, though he split the Orthodox vote with Andrew Yang, and attributed his victory to them.
A recent poll showed Hochul with a commanding lead – 54% – over Suozzi, who received 18%. Williams, a progressive, polled at 11%.
Hochul said she is looking forward “to building on our partnership to uplift the Jewish community across New York.”
Congressman Lee Zeldin, the favorite to win the Republican gubernatorial primary, has received the backing of Nassau County Jewish elected officials.
Community leaders in Williamsburg told the Jerusalem Post they endorsed Hochul because she expanded child care and she is “understanding of religious rights.”

The one who is so outspoken in favor of abortion on demand.
The one who is so outspoken AGAINST your right to defend yourself.
Etc., etc.
How embarrassing to see “Community Leaders” and “Community Activists” grovel at the alter of the Democratic candidates, heaping praises upon them and encouraging others to do the same.
Open your eyes and get off of the Democratic plantation!
(More photos with smiling politicians and big dinners please.)
You’re not getting a conservative in NY anyway. Gotta work with these people
Work with the people who are working hard to accomplish the opposite of Torah? How embarrassing.
I agree when will we wake up and stop following the blind I b”h woke up haven’t voted for a Democrat in a few years we collected thousands of signatures to stop the school issues just to keep in power the very same people who want to take our rights to teach our kids how we want people wake up do not vote them back in do the right thing
This is actually terrible and embarrassing that they’re endorsing her and basically demanding the klal to vote for her. This is why nothings going to change for the positive. But yes keep having dinner engagements. That will surely help the crisis that were in.
Can someone explain to the less knowledgeable what it is that she does to earn the Jewish endorsement? Or what her opponent did to lose the Jewish endorsement?? Anyone?? Is she not the one pushing the Yeshiva reform bill? Am I confused?
Ok, I know the answer to that last one.
HOCHUL is the reason NYC is now dangerous.
SHE refuses to repeal “No Cash Bail” — the reason our streets are rampant with crime.
SHE refuses to recall DA Bragg — the DA who refuses to prosecute criminals.
SHE is the reason Mayor Adams hands are tied and he can’t get tough on crime.
SHAME on any of you who vote for her.
“NY will always be a safe harbour for woman in search of freedom to control their own body, they will be able to come to the state of NY” -Kathy Hochul
ie. NY is a safe haven for abortion and an abortion destination.
Why exactly is she being supported by the jewish communities? I know its not as straight forward as that but I find it sad that the democratic party in NY is who the frum jews are supporting.
Vote Republican!!
B”h from what I’m reading here from the comments most people have brains and are not gonna listen to our so called askonim and vote for change I recently became a republican myself and would love to join the young republican coalition if anyone knows how to please post thanks
We need to get rid of Medicaid, food stamps, WIC and section 8!
We need to arm everyone with large capacity AR-15!
Abortions should be banned and if you do one you should be put to death!
How much longer will we have to endure democratic anarchy?!
Vote Trump 2024!
Quit the deceptive post.
Donald J. Trump, when President, encouraged significant increases in child tax credits and tried to increase the cash that families needed so badly.
It was the Democrats who blocked it.
Stop with the hyperbole and deception.
Your comment which shows how indoctrinated you are is the very reason that people don’t vote YOUR party.
Hochul’s lieutenant governor, Antonio Delgado, (who is running for re-election) is advocating for CRT (critical race theory) to be mandated in all public schools and a woman’s “right to choose” in his televised advertisements (which many of our people don’t see – they see the toned down, less controversial ads he uses on YouTube). Hochul and Delgado are dangerous to Yidden and our way of life. No one should be voting for them. Even if you vote in the Democratic primary (and then vote Republican in the general election, the Republican should not have to go up against a strong… Read more »
