A committee funded by local businessmen R’ Avremel Lokshin, R’ Nachman Lokshin, and R’ Schneur Minsky, along with various sponsors, have organized accommodations, food and programs for girls from Israel for the month of Tishrei.
Joining the many guestS who will be coming to Crown Heights for the coming month of Tishrei 5775 are hundreds of high-school and seminary girls from Israel. This year too, the girls will be taken care of with a full program.
Under the guidance of the “Bnot Chabad” organization in Israel, the above-mentioned program will include Shiurim, Farbrengens, Mivtza Neshek, Mivtza Lulav, organized trips to the Ohel, meals and more.
The committee will provide the girls this year with proper accommodations in addition to all the above. In previous years, girls would spread out throughout the neighborhood, sometimes even in great walking distances; this year, for the first time the girls will be together in a spacious and comfortable building, just minutes away from 770.
“This amazing Hachnosas Orchim program has been successful in the past and I”YH will continue to grow,” said Rabbi Tzvi Altein, director of the Vaad Hatmimim organization who is overseeing the project.
The girls’ parents have expressed their appreciation to “Bnot Chabad” and to the sponsors alike that took upon themselves the responsibility of this beautiful Hachnosas Orchim, following in the legacy of HaRav Moshe Yeruslavsky OBM, as they give generously for the welfare of the guests.
The trips to the Ohel are not taken simply. The girls start the day with the proper ruchniyusdike preparations, take a quiet and serious ride in an air-conditioned bus and join a shiur at the Ohel before writing their Pan and going in for Yechidus at the Rebbe’s Tziyun.
Special opportunities will be given to the girls to visit the Rebbe’s house and the Rebbe’s room in 770.
During the month, the girls will hear many vivid descriptions of “Tishrei at the Rebbe” from hand-picked mashpiim, speakers, shluchim and the Rebbe’s secretaries.
In the evening hours, after a satisfying supper, the girls will be shown rare videos of the Rebbe thanks to JEM.
Unique programs, focusing on the greatness of Rebbetzin Chana, will be held, in honor of her fiftieth yartzeit on Vov Tishrei. On the yartzeit itself, the girls will go daven at her gravesite.
The Shabbos and Yom Tov meals will be hosted by local Chassidishe families; each Seuda will be a sort of a Farbrengen, soaked in the special aroma of the Rebbe’s Shchuna.
More sleeping accommodations are needed for guests. To offer a room or basement, contact Itzik Greenberg at

This is a problem for decades, guests feel more entitled than anyone else, because they spent money, put up with hard conditions, etc. That is all true, but Tishrei is only once for all of us, at the same time. Some balance and equity PLEASE

This is wonderful news and terrific Hachnosas Orchim! I remember well what Tishrei was like for an out-of-towner back in the day, and I’m so glad these girls are being taken care of!
We have been hosting girls for years every tishrei Sometimes twenty show up fora seauda, without previous arrangements and we are so happy to be able to do this We have heard horror stories regarding their sleeping arrangements and are so happy that it will new taken care of. I would like to add on note, which bears discussion. I appreciate the girls wanting to he in 770, their mesiras nefesh is laudable, they arrive early and stand for hours. The problem is that our local Bais Rivkah girls have absolutely no place to stand, let alone sit. The fortunate… Read more »
