On Sunday, December 28, the Friendship Circle hosted its second annual hockey game in Brooklyn. Hundreds of families enjoyed a day of fun and sportsmanship in support of the Friendship Circle.
On Sunday, December 28, hockey enthusiasts, Friendship Circle supporters, and members of the local community came together at the Abe Stark Arena in Brooklyn for a one-of-a-kind hockey game in support of the Friendship Circle of Brooklyn.
The idea was born when Boruch Shpiegelman, an avid hockey player who has participated in numerous tournaments, saw an opportunity to combine his love for the game with a cause close to his heart.
Players fundraised for the opportunity to be on the team, creating a dynamic and engaging way to support children with special needs while enjoying a sport they love. More than just a game, this was community-wide effort to strengthen bonds and create lasting impact.
“The event not only raised funds for Friendship Circle, but also introduced new faces to its incredible mission,” says director Rabbi Berel Majesky.
