A fire broke out in a building on Kingston Avenue on Monday.
The fire started just before 12:00 pm on the 5th floor at 451 Kingston Avenue between Lefferts Avenue and Empire Boulevard.
Traffic was stopped on the main street while firefighters got the fire under control.
One person was injured in the fire.
Bystanders reported damage to multiple apartments on the 5th floor.

Hopefully, this gives a new opportunity for renovations to the apartments and new tenants to move in
Since 3 apartments were completely destroyed in today’s fire. Can the new Vaad Hakohol CHJCC ask the management of 451 Kingston Ave, that after the renovations from insurance are done. If they can rent the apartments to Lubavitchers? There is no Jews in that building.
Someone help us
Unfortunately, yes. It’s a homeless shelter building.
It is actually a standard apartment building which if they want can rent to anyone. Just the landlord of 451 Kingston, rents it only to the Government funded city program for the recently incarcerated
By Jewish I mean jewish owned.
Housing and harboring our very own criminals.
So that crime stays in the neighborhood.
Yasher koach to the jewish landlord! Bravo!
There are fire trucks on a nightly basis at 451 Kingston Ave. What is going on?
No Jews there, just the owner.
After the grabbing/snatching incident on a Lubavitcher boy a few months ago, this 451 Kingston Ave, is the building that the kidnapper ran inside to afterwards
451 Kingston is where many of the package thieves in Crown Heights reside
?
It’s a dangerous building that has many gang members that were released from Rikers Island. Every night there is either Police, FDNY or EMS (sometimes all) called to this building, but usually it’s the NYPD. Something is going on the inside of 451 Kingston Avenue
the rambam writes, that when one sees things happening in the world, one must not say: it is just a random happening, rather everything that happens is for a reason. when we see our community being plagued by fire, we must try to take a lesson from this. it is interesting, that on friday, after hearing about the big fire, i was overcome with dread, and after opening up the hayom yom, i was surprised to see that the day’s hayom yom speaks about fire…! it speaks about how in between the realm of ‘coldness’ (- apathty to spiritual pursuits),… Read more »
