We hope this letter finds you and your family well and in good spirits.
As we’re still under the impression of Chanuka when we’re inspired to rededicate our efforts to continuous growth and improvement as symbolized by the 8 candles of the Menorah, it calls to mind the 8 weeks spent in Camp Gan Israel—each week representing another candle of lichtikeit, warmth and growth—both materially and spiritually.
At the central office of Camp Gan Israel, NY—the flagship boys’ summer camp of Chabad-Lubavitch—we work year-round on ensuring a healthy, safe and enriching summer for all our dear staff and campers—recommitting ourselves to the mission entrusted to us by our camp’s founder, the Rebbe זי״ע—constantly seeking new ways to grow and improve, according to his holy vision and wishes.
The Rebbe’s connection to Camp Gan Israel and the extent to which he cherished it, is well known. From his exclusive visits to our grounds to his unwavering personal involvement in its development from its inception and onward. Indeed, his holy brochos are apparent from year to year.
This year is especially momentous as we celebrate 70 years of Camp Gan Israel (5716–5786). As befitting, many initiatives are underway to mark this auspicious milestone, including a festive ‘70 Year Celebration Day’ culminating with a Siyum Sefer Torah that was begun last summer in camp. (A separate notice-invite with further details will be sent out closer to the summer.)
As we gear up to welcome another exciting summer in the Rebbe’s camp, we are pleased to share that a full lineup of experienced and dedicated head staff have been hired and are currently working diligently on assembling camp’s staff roster—a group of devoted bochurim who will, bez”H, instill a love for Torah and Yiddishkeit and imbue a true sense of Hiskashrus into the minds and hearts of our precious children שי׳.
With Hashem’s help and the Rebbe’s abundant, flowing brochos, we are sure that Camp Gan Israel summer 5786 will be the most successful and fulfilling one yet.
