A women and girls rally in support of Sholom Mordechai Rubaskin will be taking place next week in Brooklyn, NY.
Called for Monday, December 28, at Beth El shul on 15th Avenue and 48th Street in Boro Park, it promises “a soul-stirring and inspirational evening; including a musical presentation.”
“Funds must be raised immediately to reverse this travesty of justice, for the costs of appealing his case and procuring his release,” the sign said.
Rubashkin, former manager of Agriprocessors kosher meatpacking plant in Iowa, is being denied bail as he awaits the judge’s sentencing.
Speakers at the event include Rabbi Pinchos Lipschutz, Rabbi Moshe Snow, Rabbi Fischel Schachter and Mrs. Miriam Swerdlov of Crown Heights.

Kudos. But we need to do much more. When pidyon shvuyim calls, open your wallets! Yidden always went all-out for pidyon shvuyim (even if there was a “reason” for the case) how much more so when we are dealing with a huge travesty of justice and a witch hunt.
I love how two people read the same thing and took out two totally different lessons from it and personally i think #2 is better….
