The winner of the Women’s Chinuch Award was announced at a special reception preceding the Chabad Chinuch Convention’s Chinuch Banquet on Sunday night in Crown Heights.
Her name is Mrs. Miriam Gerber of Cheder Chabad of Philadelphia.
This first-of-its-kind convention aims to bring together Lubavitcher Mechanchim from across the world in a two-day event of Chinuch-empowering knowledge, inspiration, networking, and an opportunity to develop new Chinuch expertise.
Mrs. Batsheva Deren of Yeshiva Schools of Pittsburgh addressed the gathering, and Mrs. Chana Rose presented the award and lauded Mrs. Gerber’s extensive accomplishments to the assembled crowd of mechanchos and supporters.
The monetary award of $3,600, sponsored by Mr. Jacob Frydman, recognizes a teacher who excels at her craft and serves as a platform to celebrate and recognize mechanchos for their dedication and hard work.

18 years ago, I and several of my friends would go to Philly to help the Gerber’s for Shabbos Mivorchim, for when they would do a Friday night program with the community. Very special and kind-hearted people- the entire Gerber Family…!
I watched the video and scrolled through the pictures and all I can think is WOW. Wow, what an incredible educator Mrs. Gerber is. Wow that her school’s faculty, parents, and students recognize her greatness. Wow, what a beautiful crowd of educators. Wow, how beautiful to see educators and the community come together for learning and celebration. Wow, what a beautiful program the Menachem Foundation pulled off. Wow Wow Wow.
