Chabad Lubavitch of Central Africa, under the leadership of Head Shliach Rabbi Shlomo Bentolila, and with the approval of Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice Chairman of Merkos Linyonei Chinuch, announced today the appointment of Rabbi and Mrs. Avromy and Sternie Super as the Shluchim to Nairobi, Kenya in East Africa.
Chabad of Central Africa has been sending Bachurim on Merkos Shlichus for the past 25 years to cities across Central Africa for Rosh Hashanah and Pesach and in the past year the request for a full time family of Shluchim was made by community members.
To test the waters, Rabbi Bentolila sent Rabbi Avromy Super and his wife Sternie for this past Pesach.
The success was amazing and the inspiration for Chabad to establish a full time presence only grew.
Chabad of Kenya will be working in close partnership with the Nairobi Hebrew Congregation.
The Supers join the growing list of Shluchim families to Central Africa, Rabbi and Mrs. Shlomo Bentolila – Kinshasa, D.R. Congo, Rabbi and Mrs. Yisrael Uzan -Abuja, Nigeria, Rabbi and Mrs. Levi Checkly, Luanda, Angola, and Rabbi and Mrs. Noach Majeski – Accra, Ghana.
