What started as a chilly spring day quickly turned into something warm and uplifting, as Friendship Circle moms gathered for a post-Pesach brunch.
For many, it was exactly what they needed. As one mom put it, it was “the light at the end of my Pesach tunnel”; something to look forward to after the busy Yom Tov.
Mrs. Chani Majesky, Director of Friendship Circle Brooklyn, opened the morning with a meaningful message connected to Beis Iyar and L’chatchila Ariber, reminding everyone that challenges are lighter when we face them together. Community, she emphasized, gives us the strength to rise above.
Tehillim, led by Mrs. Libby Chein and Mrs. Racheli Chaimsohn, brought the room together as names of FC members, siblings, and a fellow mom were mentioned for refuah.
One FC mom shared her story, speaking honestly about her hesitation to join at the beginning of the year and how grateful she is that she did. From her children realizing that classmates were quietly going through similar experiences after meeting so many at the mega FC Chanukah event, to the comfort of care packages, volunteer visits, and the ever-active moms’ WhatsApp group, she described a support system she hadn’t realized she needed so deeply. “It’s what’s carried me through this year,” she said.
The women raised a L’chaim together, davening for refuah, shidduchim, and strength, and turning to each other with heartfelt amens, truly living the words “ “אִישׁ אֶת־רֵעֵהוּ יַעְזֹרוּ וּלְאָחִיו יֹאמַר חֲזָק ”
Each mom left with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, a generous gift from members of the Soul Cares WhatsApp group*, bringing a piece of the morning’s warmth back home with them.
The event took place in the Mussie Sputz Hall at the Friendship Circle Center.
*The Soul Cares chat is a quiet corner where women in the community choose love and empathy for no reason other than to support other souls. On this admin only group, volunteer opportunities are posted on an as-needed basis. Email [email protected] to join or for more info.

Kudos to whoever set this up. The table-scape is so beautiful, warm and welcoming.
Whoever arranged this keep up the great work. Our mothers need this break, self care and inspiration that you offer to continue in raising the next generation in this challenging time.
