A large area outside of Chabad Headquarters at 770 Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights has been set up as an outdoor Shul, since 770 is open to a limited number of people for prayers following an uptick in coronavirus cases in the neighborhood.
For the holiday of Rosh Hashana which begins on Friday night, the Gabboim of the Shul have announced that the Shul, which is normally packed with thousands of people each year for the High Holiday prayers, will only be open to those who have purchased seats. A small number of people will be allowed to stand on the side of the Shul, at less than usual capacity.
An outdoor Minyan with davening and Shofar will be held outside, they said.
Those with health complications or underlying conditions should not enter the Shul, they said.
Those who can Daven elsewhere should make the effort to do so, so that the social distancing can be enforced.
The seating in the Shul will be set up differently than other years, to allow for social distancing, they said.
A seating map will be available in the Shul for all those who have purchased seats.
Tekias Shofar with the Rebbe’s Shofar will take place on Sunday, the second day of Yom Tov, at 2:00 PM, outside of the Shul.
Tashlich on the second day of Yom Tov will take place after Shacharis. An orderly line will pass through without stopping, and social distancing will be enforced. Those who can come earlier in the day should do so, they asked.
The Farbrengen on Motzei Yom Tov will take place outdoors on Eastern Parkway, they said.
