He will be missed by
He was a special person. I remember him from YOEC in 2003 and 2004. He would come every morning to daven and even invited us to his house for Shabbos. Despite his challenges from polio, he still managed to be an active member of the community and always remained kind.

A true & caring Chossid. His life could not have been easy, but he served Hashem and encountered all with a warm smile. His kindness will not be forgotten.
A giant of a man with a great smile. I spent many a Shabbos lunch at his table. Baruch Dayan Emes.
Coached basketball while being all his adult life in a wheelchair
I was a bochur in YOEC back in the late 90’s and early 00’s. Shabbos day, Zalmen would always invite a bunch of bochrim to his house for Seudas Shabbos. B”H I spent many Shabbos meals in his house. good memories!
R Zalman, I ate by you many times. You joked around a lot you were always bsimcha. Bring the house down
Sid (Zalman) was my brother. I am sad that I had to find out about his death from the Internet and no one called me so that I could attend his funeral. He had a beautiful singing voice, wrote lovely music, and his brilliant mind thrived during his years as the first sit-down comedian in New York City. Losing his identical twin Fred must have been painful. I hope he found peace.
