The National Jewish Retreat, an annual organized by the Rohr Jewish Learning Institute (JLI), brings together Jews from all walks of life for a week of spiritual growth, intellectual exploration, and meaningful connection.
Featuring world-renowned scholars, dynamic speakers, and engaging workshops, the retreat offers an array of topics ranging from Jewish philosophy and Torah study to contemporary issues and personal growth.
Its 700 participants enjoy a vibrant, uplifting environment filled with camaraderie, gourmet kosher cuisine, and unique recreational activities, all designed to deepen their Jewish identity and enrich their lives.
This past summer’s retreat was held at Miami’s National Doral Hotel in Florida and it included “Heaven’s Kitchen: Battle of The Sages,” a live cooking competition.
It was hosted by Rabbi Yitzchak Schochet, Rabbi of the Mill Hill United Synagogue in Edgware, England, and had 3 married couples participating.
Contestants were:
Rabbi Chalom and Meirav Boudjnah – Shluchim at Chabad – SDSU in San Diego, California
David And Eda Schottenstein – entrepreneur and philanthropists in Surfside, Florida
Rabbi Pinchas and Miriam Taylor – Shluchim at Chabad of Plantation in Florida
