Over 700 people were in attendance at Tuesday night’s ‘Living the Legacy of the Rebbe and the Rav’ program.
The discussion about the special relationship between the Lubavitcher Rebbe and Rav Joseph B. Soloveitchik took place in Yeshiva University’s Lamport Audtorium-the largest venue on campus.
This event featured an introduction from Rabbi Moshe Weinberger, Mashpia in Yeshiva University and founding Morah d’Asrah of Congregation Aish Kodesh in Woodmere, NY.
The main speakers of the evening were Rabbi Dr. Jacob J. Schacter, University Professor of Jewish History and Jewish Thought in Yeshiva University, Rabbi Yosef Y. Jacobson, one of the most sought after speakers in the Jewish world today and world renowned scholar of Chabad Chassidus, Rabbi Zevulun Charlop, dean emeritus of the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary, and Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky, personal secretary to the Lubavitcher Rebbe for over 40 years and Chairman of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch and Machne Israel, the educational and social services arms of the Chabad-Lubavitch worldwide organization. Professor Lawrence Schiffman, Yeshiva University’s Vice-Provost was the emcee.
People left the event marveling at the tremendous success of the evening and the massive kiddush Hashem, said Chabad Club Director and YU Junior, Danny Fordham.
“G-d has clearly blessed us. The evening was a smashing success,” said Fordham. “The speakers were amazing and everyone was able to come out with our evening’s goal as was stated in the concluding remarks: ‘We hope you learned something meaningful tonight that will last far beyond this evening. May we study, commit ourselves to, and live, the Rebbe and the Rav’s legacies and thereby create the world that they envisioned.’ ”
The Chabad Club will have their year end event this Thursday night with a farbrengen with Rabbi Sholom Jacobson. The bochurim will learn about the history of the Rebbe’s sichos-which they have learned every Thursday night b’chavrusa with Oholei Torah bochurim who travel over an hour each way to learn.
The evening was sponsored by SOY-JSC and the YU Chabad Club

thank you
so that I can hear it while I drive?
This time I will write my comment S L O W L Y….
I am referring to the event – “the actual farbreingen where the Rav came to be with the Rebbe”.
Rabbi Shemtov was the one (and only) that facilitated the coming of the Rav.
I
Therfore it was surprising not to see him at THIS event in YU.

You must be thinking of something else. This event took place two nights ago not on yud shvat. The entire event, from a-z was arranged by Danny fordham. He deserves a lot more credit then he was given.
There is someone else as well who was and is truly “mekushor” to the Rebbe with his heart and soul and life, and must know as many stories as well, That is Rabbi Leibel Groner.
Please post a video.
To the honorable COLLIVE Editorial…..
I rubbed my eyes twice, thinking where I missed Rabbi Shemtov.
Then I called a few friends in NY, who were at that Yud Shvat Farbreingen and they too were baffled.
As all know, it was Rabbi Shemtov who facilitated this momentous event, the Rebbe and the Rov.
COLLIVE would do us and itself great service if they would interview Reb Avrohom regarding the Yud Shvat Farbreingen with the Rebbe and the Rov.

What a lovely surprise, my daughter’s face (in the crowd) on COL.Live! Great event. Amazing turnout. Well done, everyone!

Is there anyone someone can start a monthly lecture/fabrengen with Rabbi Krinsky. He is a fountain of information and a real dugma chaya of a chossid… I doubt anyone living today spent the amount of time he did with the Rebbe. Anyone have an idea who to contact to arrange that?
