Yankel (Zaidy) Rigler, a longtime resident of Montreal, passed away on Tuesday, 10 Nissan, 5781.
He was 69.
Yankel was a member of anash who lived in Crown Heights until the early 1980’s, when he moved to Montreal.
He learned in the Yeshiva in Montreal for many years. A brilliant and learned man, Yankel tutored many children in the community.
He will be missed by his many friends in the Lubavitcher communities of Crown Heights and Montreal.
He is survived by his brother Arnie Rigler of Brooklyn, NY.

He was known to learn Chasidus and daven at length – and also to farbreng. He was a person of realness.

Zeidy Rigler took an interest in my learning chassidus as a young post bar mitzvah boy and learned with me each shabbos morning for a few years in the front of 770. He gave me the feeling a young bochur needs that i’m able to learn chassidus and understand. I’m sure our learning helped give me some geshmak and interest in chassidus.
