It’s a wonder we are allowed to breathe in the air – there must surely be molecules of chametz in the atmosphere. If people want to take halachah to the extreme, and it makes them feel more spiritual, then let them.
Like my parents…
I understand from the way I was raised back in the 70s that we peel because we don’t know what ingredients are contained in the pesticides. However, for vegetables used before Pesach it is considered batel B’ shishim. Consult your local Rav.
Fruit and vegetable is not chemetz, bottled water is not chametz, even crumbs of bread is.not considered chametz.
This.is totally not necessary.
Sounds entertaining though.
I think Hashem gave us enough restrictions, we don’t need to misleed others please

Is this a minhag or chumra? Is it mentioned in sefer haminhagim? Where/ when did it start? Why can’t one just wash off the vegetable or fruit?
