Toys for Simcha distributed 1500 innovative ‘hospital welcome kits’ to the children at Dana Dwek Children’s Hospital in Tel Aviv.
These innovative ‘hospital welcome kits’ contain a variety of games and essentials that assist with a child’s easy transition to an in-patient facility.
During the very first presentation of a welcome package to a young girl, she emptied out the contents and pulled out a hairbrush, and immediately began brushing her hair. “I didn’t want anyone to look at me today, because I didn’t brush my hair. You brought me exactly what I needed!”
Toys for Simcha also presented the hospital with 15 pairs of Virtual Reality goggle, heralded as a game-changing tool for keeping children distracted from the discomfort of medical treatments.
Toys for Simcha is a special project of Toys for Hospitalized Children, a program of the NCFJE spearheaded by Rabbi Jacob J. Hecht in the 1950s. Toys for Simcha was launched with grants from “The King of Fun,” Mr. Stewart Rahr. Mr. and Mrs. Asher Zamir, and Mr. and Mrs. Abe Podolsky.
So beautiful to see the organization in Israel!
