A “Vintage Bazaar and Family Fun Fair” will be taking place in Crown Heights on Sunday, February 16 to benefit women’s learning and enrichment programs in the neighborhood.
Proceeds will go to the iLearn Institute, which offers in-depth classes on Halacha, Chassidus, parenting, marriage education, home management and a myriad of other topics.
“It is a resource, a pillar, for women, families, and the community,” says Chaya Wilmowsky, coordinator of the program, noting the Tuesday brunch series, guest speakers they recently hosted, over 10 farbrengens and the innovative Shidduchim Course in partnership with the Shidduch Coaching Center.
Residents were asked to find fine items of clothing, accessories or housewares in good condition and drop it off at 556 Crown St. (the right side door and up the stairs) until Friday, February 14th. You can text 843-424-2625 to inquire about pick up possibilities.
“It’s a win-win situation,” says Wilmowsky. “You reclaim the space you need in your closets, while filling minds and nourishing souls at iLearn. The more funds that are raised, the lower the costs can be for participants. There has been demand for Tanya and Halacha courses, an Art in the AM series, and cooking, and aerobics classes. The finest teachers have been arranged; now it’s a matter of funding.”
Helping sponsor the event are the Art Cafe pottery studio, the Lady Liberty Photo Booth, White Nights Boutique, Mamesh Music school for children and The Print House.
The Vintage Bazaar will take place at 556 Crown St. Apt A1 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. At 3:30 PM, there will be a live performance of Mirele Rosenberger (piano) and Dana Pestun (violin).
Admission is $5 and includes a raffle ticket for a chance to win a family pottery painting session at the Art Cafe and a designer tichel from White Nights Boutique. It also includes a $4 coupon towards a vintage item or the vintage photo booth. Children enter free.
