All this causes increased inconvenience for innocent passengers, while doing nothing at all to increase security. It gives TSA officers, who are otherwise unemployable idiots, the power to boss people around and harras passengers. The real terrorists laught at this.

Just Ban all Muslims from Terrorist countries

It applies to everyone. This announcement here is a chesed to frum travelers who may not see the announcement elsewhere. This is particularly relevant as this is a time when people will be traveling after Tisha B”Av and at the end of summer and such news might be missed.
