On Sunday, Yeshivas Lubavitch Toronto held their annual mivtzoim dinner. Having grown out of the yeshiva facilities, the event took place this year in the beautiful banquet hall of Shaarei Shomayim.
The 250 attendees, who included members of all segments of Jewish Toronto, were inspired by powerful speakers, while enjoying the delicious repast of Menchens catering.
One of the mivtzoim locations of the bochurim of the Yeshiva is at Westmount High School, where hundreds of the Jewish students are encouraged to put on tefillin, and receive a fresh donut (as an added incentive).
One of those high school students, Josh Zolotorev, joined the dinner, and shared very heartfelt words about his Jewish pride, and the great impact that the bochurim have on him and his friends.
There was also a guest appearance by Mr. Josh Colle, chairman of the TTC in Toronto (the mode of transportation of the majority of the bochurim to their mivtzoim locations) and a member of the government.
Mr. Colle expressed his amazement at the extent of the Yeshiva’s influence. Between the speakers, the attendees were treated to live music by talmidim Mordechai Shachne Zirkind and Mendel Kleinberg.
The event was coordinated this year by Rabbi Menachem Mendel Lieberman, with much help from all of the bochurim, and especially the talmidim shluchim.
After concluding with enthusiastic dancing (and pictures together with their Friday friends) everyone left much uplifted and greatly impressed, looking forward to increasing in their efforts to transform the world into a dwelling place for Hashem.
