CROWN HEIGHTS — On Purim day, men, women, and children are invited to fulfill the mitzvah of Matanos L’Evyonim at the famous Shimshon & Martha Stock porch.
Throughout Purim day at 593 Montgomery Street(between Kingston and Brooklyn), families can stop by to give tzedakah directly to the famous CSSY Tzedakah box, in which the Rebbe put tzedakah. Music and treats for children will add to the warm, spirited and joyous Purim atmosphere while supporting those in need.
All donations collected will be distributed on Purim day itself, with funds given directly and discreetly to poor and needy families in the Greater Crown Heights community.
As the Rambam writes: “It is preferable for a person to be more generous with his donations to the poor than to be lavish in his preparation of the Purim feast or in sending Shalach Manos. For there is no greater and more splendid happiness than to gladden the hearts of the poor, the orphans, the widows, and the converts.”
For those unable to attend in person, donations can be made online at www.CSSY.org/Purim, via PayPal at paypal.me/CSSY, CashApp at $CSSYcashapp, or by Zelle at [email protected].
On Purim, friends, family, and neighbors are counting on the community’s generosity to ensure that everyone can celebrate with dignity and joy.
This year’s Matanos L’Evyonim campaign is dedicated in memory of Shimshon HaKohen Stock, OB”M, whose 19th yahrzeit falls on Purim.

Thank you so much for everything you do for the community
