New Yorkers are heading to the polls today for the 2025 New York City mayoral election, with polling sites open from 6:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.
This year’s race has drawn significant attention, with three major candidates on the ballot. Former Governor Andrew Cuomo is running as an Independent, seeking a return to public office. Zohran Mamdani, a Democratic socialist, has focused his campaign on housing and transportation reform. Curtis Sliwa, the Republican candidate and Guardian Angels founder, has emphasized public safety and policing as his key platform.
In the weeks leading up to Election Day, early voting numbers in New York City reached record highs, with over 200,000 ballots already cast across Brooklyn. Local officials have called it one of the highest early turnouts in a non-presidential election in city history.
Crown Heights has stood out once again for its strong turnout, with residents showing up in historic numbers during early voting.
Crown Heights United has endorsed a slate of candidates ahead of the election, including Andrew Cuomo for mayor, Mark Levine for comptroller, Antonio Reynoso for Brooklyn Borough President, Crystal Hudson for City Council District 35, and Eric Gonzalez for Brooklyn District Attorney.
“A strong voter turnout is critically important, regardless of the race’s outcome,” Crown Heights United said. “Elected officials pay close attention to which districts turn out to vote, and this can shape future policy. This may be the most important local election of our lifetime.”
The Crown Heights Rabbonim and community leadership have echoed that call, urging all eligible voters to cast their ballots today. “Voting is a civic and moral responsibility,” a community representative said. “Each person’s participation strengthens our community’s voice in the city’s future.”
Polls will remain open until 9:00 p.m., and residents are encouraged to check their local polling location through the Board of Elections website or by calling 866-VOTE-NYC.

If you live in District 41, make sure to vote for Yehuda Shaffer for city council
Why should I vote for him. Being a frum Jew has nothing to do with being a good city councilman. Will he lower my taxes? Lower my rent? Lower the outrageous food prices in our district?
How to vote ?

Coumo said these words: ….especially with members of the Jewish community, they have never complied with the rules, I guarantee if a yeshiva gets closed down and theyre not going to get state funding you will see compliance. So hopefully that will motivate them bec nothing i have ever said motivated them…. .
Um. Did you hear what Sliwa was saying about Jews?
HES A FAKER.

As coumo once said: “especially with members of the Jewish community, they have never complied with the rules, I guarantee if a yeshiva gets closed down and theyre not going to get state funding you will see compliance. You really have not sat down and contemplated what it will feel like, Chas ve shalom, to have a full blown anti-Semite as our highest elected city official. And so you still, amazingly, want to convince us to vote for a self-promoting clown, like we have that luxury. A clown that incidentally said some very ugly things about very observant Jews over recent years. Is Sliwa an antisemite? No, I don’t think so, in the very least not to the degree Mamdani is. Polls consistently show that Cuomo is within striking distance of stopping Mamdani, and would be winning if… Read more »
Doing that you voted for mamzerani
Please everyone vote!!!!
We must do our part to try to defeat Mamdani.
The sheer amount of countless posts that I have seen of people saying that they dont want to vote for coumo but they have to,makes me think sliwa may have had as much of a good chance . Wish ppl thought for themselves, really do…
Yes, hes a horrible person, but hes our only (natural) way of beating mamdani, bezh. Voting for sliwa just means a vote for mamdani. and we cant forget to daven.
Benny rosenberger instead of crystal
How sickening that we’ve come to the point that the BETTER choice is to vote for a candidate who caused the agonizing covid deaths of tens of thousands of elderly citizens by refusing the fully equipped hospital ship that Trump sent to the NY harbor in 2020 for political reasons- and causing infected residents to spread covid like wildfire through nursing homes.
The travesty that our large Crown Heights community still has zero representation has to end. They ‘gerrymandered’ the district – meaning they cut it up so that we can never vote as one cohesive unit. We need to redistrict so that we can have justice for our community once and for all.
Gonzales the DA has put and is continuously trying to put innocent Ehrlich yidden behind bars. He’s unopposed this election but no one should be voting for that Rashad. Write it any other name.
Why is nobody talking about the 6 questions on the back? These proposals promote the far-left agenda. Voting NO on these proposals is more important than voting for one rosho instead of another rosho.
