New York City Mayor Eric Adams was the guest of honor at the Jewish Children’s Museum’s 17th Annual Gala Dinner in Crown Heights Tuesday, and was presented with the Leadership Award.
During his speech, the Mayor told of his longtime friendship with Museum Co-Founder Devorah Halberstam, who insisted he visit the Rebbe‘s Ohel when he was 13 points behind in the polls during his mayoral campaign.

Thank you Devorah for creating this moment from years of blood sweat and tears. Like the Mayor said, you took pain to purpose and pivoted with passion. The speech of our Mayor and the good wishes of our other elected officials, is due to years of planting the seeds of good will and positivity.
Thank you for your dedication to our community. May we all share the continued fruits of your labor with peace and simcha together with all our neighbors.
Very respectful and well done as always.
Keep it up Devorah for the benefit of all.
The Rebbe said she has incredible kishronos and to make sure she always uses it for the good of Lubavitch.
Thank you!
